Heinrich Schliemann
The famous archaeologist (1822 to 1890) left his mark not only in Asia Minor, where he carried out numerous excavations and discovered the spectacular treasure of Priamos in 1873, but also in Fürstenberg/Havel.
Before his career as an excavator in Asia Minor, he began an apprenticeship as a merchant with a grocer in Brandenburger Straße in 1836 and lived here until 1841. A plaque on the façade of the house commemorates this time. The Heinrich Schliemann Museum in his childhood home in Ankershagen (Mecklenburg Lake District) is dedicated in detail to Schliemann's life and work.
