Fishing

Anglers will find very good conditions in the Mecklenburg Lake District thanks to the diversity and cleanliness of the waters and an exceptional abundance of fish. Trout, carp, pike, eel, perch, catfish, roach or pike-perch might bite. If you want to cast your rod, you need a valid fishing licence in Brandenburg or a fishing licence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in each case in conjunction with a fishing permit for the respective inland water. Fishing licences can be purchased in all federal states, so-called holiday fishing licences can also be purchased directly at the holiday destination. Fishing permits are available as daily, weekly or annual passes.
