Eva and Erwin Strittmatter
The literary couple discovered the estate in the Dollgower district of Schulzenhof in 1954 and found inspiration for their numerous stories, novels or poems in the seclusion. Landscape and people often found a place in the works, for example his novel "Ole Bienkopp" or her famous lines in "Ich mach ein Lied aus Stille".
Erwin Strittmatter (1912 to 1994) was also able to pursue his beloved hobby of horse breeding on the Schulzenhof, which is privately owned by the family. Eva Strittmatter (1930 to 2011), a native of Neuruppin, often accompanied her husband on rides in the surrounding area.
The Strittmatter memorial in Dollgow commemorates the life and work of the two. Their graves are located in the forest cemetery in Schulzenhof.
