Variant 1 "FONTANE.RAD" - From Neustadt (Dosse) to Neuruppin

The discovery tour to the west of Neuruppin leads past numerous estates. Fontane was particularly impressed by the Prince of Homburg, who developed Neustadt (Dosse) from an insignificant spot into a flourishing town. The Brandenburg Main and County Stud is housed in impressive listed buildings. A day tour that ends in the poet's birthplace: Neuruppin.

The tour variant of the FONTANE.RAD route starts directly in Neustadt (Dosse) and connects to the main route in Neuruppin. The stud farm in Neustadt (Dosse) had a unique influence on the entire region even in Fontane's time. Extensively renovated in recent years, the listed buildings and facilities now present themselves in a new light. The next stop, Wusterhausen/Dosse, was the "twin" of Neustadt for Fontane. The cycle tour continues via Brunn to Trieplatz, whose manor house Fontane described in detail and which still stands today. In Ganzer, the Rohr manor house with art workshops and Fontane walks invites you to take a break. Continuing via Gottberg with its impressive fieldstone church and Kränzlin, which Fontane visited many times because of his friendship with the Scherz estate family, the tour ends in Neuruppin - Theodor Fontane's birthplace.

Arrival : From Berlin Hbf. with RE 2 (Wittenberge/Wismar) to Neustadt (Dosse) (approx. 1 hour).

Departure: From Neuruppin Rheinsberger Tor with RE 6 (Berlin Gesundbrunnen) to Berlin-Spandau or Berlin Gesundbrunnen and from there with the S-Bahn to Berlin Hbf. (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes).
