Start in Nauen and admire the Mittelstraße with its Wilhelminian style buildings, the Martin-Luther-Platz and the St. Jakobi Church. Continue on to Kremmen with its market square flanked by town houses and Germany's largest surviving barn district. The final destination is the neo-classical town of Neuruppin, the birthplace of Fontane and Schinkel.

• By car: From Neuruppin with the RE6 (Spandau) to Falkensee. From here take the RB10 to Nauen to the car (approx. 1.5 h).
