Day Tour 12 to the Historic Town Centres of Templin & Gransee

This day tour takes you through the historic town centres of Templin and Gransee through forests. lake and river landscape of the Uckermark. Start in the town of Templin, whose medieval setting is better preserved than any other in northern Brandenburg. Templin's most magnificent structure is the town wall. A gapless ring with gates, towers and gate towers, with 47 cradle houses and 1735 metres in length. The destination of the tour is the historic town centre of Gransee. In addition to the fieldstone walls, the Powder Tower and the Wieck Houses, the imposing Waldemar Gate and the Ruppin Gate, built in the 15th century, are worth seeing. Numerous concerts are held in the three-nave Marienkirche church throughout the summer.

Arrival:

• By train: From Berlin main station with the RE5 (Rostock) to Oranienburg. From here take the RB12 to Templin town (approx. 1.5 h).
• Car: Those arriving by car should start the tour the other way round to shorten the journey: from Berlin via the A10 and B96 to Gransee (approx. 1h).

Departure:

• By train: From Gransee take the RE5 (Wünsdorf-Waldstadt) to Berlin main station (approx. 1h).
• By car: From Templin take the RB12 (Ostkreuz) to Löwenberg. From here, continue with the RE5 (Stralsund) to Gransee to the car (approx. 1h).
