3rd stage "Havel Cycle Route": Oranienburg - Potsdam

The third stage of the Havel Cycle Path leads over 66 kilometres from Oranienburg to Potsdam. First it goes via Birkenwerder to Hennigsdorf on the outskirts of Berlin. The route continues directly along the Havel to Berlin-Spandau. At Heerstraße you reach Scharfe Lanke. Follow the banks of the Havel to Kladow, where you take the ferry to Wannsee. From Wannsee, the route passes Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island) and Glienicker Park and follows the Havel over Glienicker Brücke (Glienicke Bridge) to Potsdam. Berliner Straße then leads with a detour to the banks of the Alte Fahrt to Potsdam's Alter Markt.

How to get there: From Berlin main station take the RE5 (Rostock) to Oranienburg (approx. 30 minutes).

Departure: From Potsdam main station with RE1 (Eisenhüttenstadt) to Berlin main station (approx. 30 minutes).

Trail condition / route development: In the Brandenburg district of Oberhavel, between Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the border with Berlin, the trails are in excellent condition and lead exclusively on asphalt cycle paths or quiet side roads. In Berlin and Potsdam, existing cycle paths are used.
