Starry sky
Stars as far as the eye can see ... At Lake Stechlin it is darker than at almost any other place in Europe. Sky watchers have the best views towards infinity because the nights at Stechlin are almost as dark as before the introduction of electric lighting. Raven black and pitch black. This results in a razor-sharp view of the starry sky.
So anyone who wants to scan the Milky Way with their eyes or wave to the little bear will find their box seat on the shores of the Stechlin. For visitors and locals, Lake Stechlin also unfolds its magic at night and invites you to dream about the universe. (Photo: Dr Andreas Hänel)
