Lake Stechlin is a paradise for divers due to its nutrient-poor water and its flora and fauna typical of a clear-water lake. The light falls to depths of up to ten metres and allows lush plant growth even there. The lake is rich in fish such as roach, pike, perch and, of course, the Fontane whitefish, which is only found in the Stechlin.
Another area where the Zehdenick diving club explores the underwater world is the Burgwaller Stich in the Burgwall district of Zehdenick.
The team at the diving school at Lake Stechlin and the Zehdenick diving club are happy to help guests, whether beginners or advanced, with an excursion under water.

Many clear-water lakes in the region also invite you to go snorkelling. Besides the Stechlin, these include the Wittwesee or Peetschsee lakes.
