Fürstenberg/Havel - One town, three lakes

Fürstenberg/Havel is unique. Germany's only water town is located just under an hour from Berlin on three islands. Fürstenberg is the heart of an extensive forest and lake area. The Fürstenberg lake district has some of the most beautiful and cleanest bathing lakes in Germany. Near Fürstenberg are the impressive ruins of Himmelpfort Monastery. The former railway line between Fürstenberg and Lychen can be discovered by bicycle trolley. The Ravensbrück concentration camp memorial is located on the eastern shore of the Schwedtsee.
