City Garden Zehdenick

The Stadtgarten Zehdenick is located directly on the banks of the Havel, between the historic drawbridge, the old Elisabeth mill and the lock.

Built in the 1920s as the "Stadtgarten" dance hall, it functioned as a state cultural centre with a hall and event catering during the GDR era. In 1990, the Wöge family took over the building, gave it back its historical name and reconstructed essential parts.

Facing the water, a restaurant was newly built and a summer terrace was constructed. At the beginning of the new millennium, a fully automatic bowling facility with 4 lanes was integrated into the hall. With its gastronomic capacities, the restaurant area with 80 seats, the cocktail bar with about 50 seats, the Havel terrace with over 100 seats as well as its event hall with 320 seats, the house is the largest establishment of its kind with a historical character far beyond the city limits.

It offers the best conditions for family and company celebrations, travel group support, conferences, school and class events, weddings and much more. As a sporting alternative, the bowling alleys offer a popular option for festivities and leisure activities, especially in the autumn and winter months. Due to its predestined location, directly on the waterway to the Mecklenburg Lake District and Berlin as well as on the international long-distance cycle route Berlin-Copenhagen, the house is an essential part of the tourist concept of the Havel city.

The owner, Gerhard Wöge, has succeeded in developing the establishment into a popular address for guests from near and far with its multifunctionality, its combination of cultural, entertainment and conference centre, paired with a cultivated gastronomy, which essentially feels connected to Brandenburg cuisine with its rich offer of local fish and meat specialities.

The "Fish & Steak" concept, from freshly caught pike perch, trout or char, to steak or roulade of Bergsdorf meadow beef, offers the lover of regional products a rich selection.
