Advent Church in Neuglobsow

Church exterior view, photo: A. Wirsig, license: Regio-Nord

The pretty little church, which stands somewhat set back on a plot of land covered with old trees in the middle of Neuglobsow, radiates contemplative peace. The rustic walls of fieldstone support the lightly plastered roof. A small, tower-like structure towers above the ridge - it houses the church bell. The church was built in 1951 and 1952 on the former site of the manor house of a glassworks dynasty in Neuglobsow.

An eye-catcher in the simple but appealing interior is the colourful leaded glass window with the title "Jesus as the Good Shepherd" in the chancel, a design by Prof. Menzel from Berlin. The organ was not installed in the church until 1980. It was made by the Nußbücker company from Plau am See. The forged iron grille and the lamp in the vestibule were donated by Prof. Fritz Kühn from Berlin. Church services as well as concerts and lectures take place in the church. Changing exhibitions of art, photographs and historical topics as well as a permanent exhibition on the history of the church can also be seen.

The church is part of the "Open Church" initiative and is open all day from May to September.
