Zaaren lock

The Zaaren lock is the terminus of the Upper Havel Waterway. This waterway provides the connection between Berlin and the Mecklenburg Lake District and is correspondingly important for water tourism in the Brandenburg Lake District. With the modernisation in 2019, the lock was converted to automatic operation and can now be operated by water tourists themselves.

Chamber length: 42.79 m, chamber width: 5.6 m, drop height: 0.92 m

The lock is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Epiphany, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, New Year's Eve.
